Binary Piano
An interactive web toy that converts any text you type into a simple piano melody. The website translates each character into its binary code equivalent (a series of 1s and 0s) and then plays the sequence as a series of notes. Built by developer Tim Holman, you can even customize the two notes used for the binary digits to create your own unique sound.

WHY WE'RE OBSESSED
It hears the music in data. Converting binary code into a melody is a brilliant way to audibly visualize proper computer language.
It works as a teaching tool. It intuitively shows how different characters are represented by different 8-bit patterns.
The customization is key. Letting you choose the 'zero' and 'one' notes allows you to compose your own haunting digital lullabies.
