It is hypnotic in the old-web sense: one simple illusion, many artists, and a canvas that keeps opening into itself.
The history makes it even better. Zoomquilt came out of early collaborative patchwork painting culture, then turned that quilt idea into a continuous animated tunnel.
Lucas called it crazy and scary, which feels fair. The longer you watch, the more the painting starts to feel like it knows exactly where it is taking you.
