You can head toward a destination or ignore the whole idea of destinations. The game explicitly offers a place to think rather than a list of tasks.

Lookouts, labs, weather stations, and other outposts give the wandering some landmarks. Mark places you want to return to instead of trying to remember which hill was which.

It runs in the browser without an account or download, with controls for desktop and mobile. There is even an assist to lift the car upright when exploration becomes a little too ambitious.
